Friends of Kilmorie

  It's that time again! We need an hour of your help to make our summer event - the Carnival of Culture the huge success it always is.  Sign up here:  volunteersignup.org/JXR4K We are holding performances from Drum Fun, Street Dance and the School Band all within the first hour of the event from 12-1 so do sign up for later slots if your child is likely to take part in one of those performances.  Here is a brief description of what each role involves:  Bar : Serving drinks (beer, wine, simple cocktails and soft drinks) and taking payments.  BBQ : Taking orders and payments and possibly some serving but no cooking necessary!  Bubble Tea : Serving pre made bubble tea from an Urn and adding boba and taking payments.  Lemonade : Serving homemade pink lemonade and taking payments.  Cake/Coffee/Tea : Serving various cakes and other treats, serving instant coffee and tea, and taking payments.  Sweet Stall : Selling sweets and ...

  Answer - they're all part of the Kilmorie Carnival of Culture on Sat 12 July! We have so many exciting things planned for the Carnival this year - it's going to be great (if we do say so ourselves!) First up - we have some amazing raffle prizes up for grabs, so why not be in to win by buying a book of tickets (10 entries for £5.) A book of tickets is arriving home with your children this week - probably crumpled up in the corner of their school bag of course!  Don't forget to hand the stubs (with your name and phone number on them) and the money, in the envelope provided, to the office by the 1 July .   And if you're feeling lucky you can pick up more tickets from the office! But wait, there's more!!! We suggest you come to the Carnival hungry! Our Carnival of Culture is shaping up to be a fabulous day!  We're celebrating cultures from all over the world - through music, games, food and more.  We'd really appreciate your help in getting some important bits for the fair from our Amazon wishlist.   UPDATED: To support London Pride (taking place on 5 July) and celebrate the inclusivity and love that Pride represents, we’re holding a relaxed social evening in the school playground on Friday 4th July. We'll be kicking off at 3.30pm - following your feedback, we thought we'd start straight after school - through to 7pm.  Bring a picnic, a blanket and the whole family - the kids can play, do crafts or get their face painted and you can enjoy the music (our DJs are two of our very own Kilmorie parents) and chat to fellow parents and carers. My child is in Wrap - can they go to the picnic? Sorry, d ue to health and safety reasons, children in Wrap cannot join the event.  If you are going to attend, please contact Wrap to cancel your session, or you can arrange for another adult/parent to collect your child and take them, as long as that adult is responsible for them at the picnic.
