Getting ready for the Winter Fair...

We know it seems early - but the Winter Fair will be upon us before we know it! So here's some early info and a call for some help 😉😉

Winter Fair
Saturday 29 Nov
2-5pm

We'll be sprinkling some magic (quite literally!), games, food, drinks and market stalls at the Winter Fair this year. As always, we need your help to pull it all off and give the kids a day to remember!

Market Stalls - we've got space for a number of market stalls, so if you have a small business, or work for a business who might like to sell their wares, please email friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com or contact your Class Rep to book a spot.

Chocolate Tombola - this is a firm favourite with adults and kids alike! We'll be asking for donations for the tombola closer to the time.

Secret Gift Room - a brilliant way for the kids to get grandparents, extended family, or even you, a little gift for Christmas! We can't guarantee you'll get something you want, but we can guarantee it will be cute to see what your kids think you (or the gift receiver) would like. We'll be asking for donations in the coming weeks too - think bottles, books, games, smellies etc...

Christmas Cookie Bake Off - we're making an effort to get the kids more involved in the events - so this year, we're planning on a Christmas Cookie Bake off. The plan is, kids bring in a decorated cookie the week before and Dennis will judge the entries, and the winners will be announced at the fair. We'll let you know more as we finalise the plans.

Sponsorship - we're always looking for sponsorship for Friends of Kilmorie, whether that's donating a prize for the raffle or sponsoring a specific event, ride or activity! If you know any businesses (or have your own) who would be happy to sponsor us, please get in touch (friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com) or through your Class Rep.

Looking for Santa - we're looking for some willing volunteers to play Santa in our grotto! We need an hour of your time to chat to groups of kids and get them excited about Christmas! Their reactions are amazing and so worth it! If you can spare an hour and think you can work a red suit and fake beard...email us or contact your Class Rep.

And finally - volunteering! - this is probably the most important part. We'll put out a volunteering request closer to the time, but just an hour of your time means we can run all the stalls we have planned. Running a stall really is a lot of fun and you get to see how much the kids love these events!

We'll be in touch over the next few weeks via What's App, the school newsletter, Instagram, Facebook, these pages and sometimes even via email...so keep an eye out!

Welcome Back!

The latest issue of FRIEND ZONE, the Friends of Kilmorie newsletter, is out now and it’s a bumper issue! Read it here to find out about upcoming events, how to support Kilmorie Primary, and the all the fantastic work that FoK (and all our other wonderful parents' groups) do around the school. Please also do feel free to join the committee members at FoK's Annual General Meeting for 2026, which will be held in the school library on Thu Sep 24th at 7.30pm. It's a great chance to find out more about the committee and how you can get involved. We'll have more updates for you soon, but in the meantime, have a great start to the school year! Thank you from all at FoK.

Still to come in our Summer term...

As the weather gets better (we hope saying this doesn't jinx it!), we've got lots of events planned to bring the school and community together!  Pride Picnic! Friday 4th July 4.30pm -7.00pm To show our support for Pride, we're hosting a relaxed evening in the school playground. We're encouraging you to bring a picnic and a blanket, let kids play, and have a chat with other parents. It's a BYO (bring your own) affair, but we will have a simple bar available with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and crisps.  Summer Carnival of Culture  (aka the summer fair) Saturday 12th July 12pm   We're in planning mode: designing a fun event that celebrates the fantastic cultures that we have in our school and borough. If you have any ideas, feel free to send them to us at friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com
