GENERAL INFO:

Dropping your child off:

Years 3 & 4: please drop your child off at the gate or the front door at 4.30pm. They will be checked in by a teacher.

Years 5 & 6: you can either drop your child at the gate or they can make their way to the disco on their own. They should not arrive before 6.30pm and they will need to be checked in by a teacher.

Wrap: If your child normally attends Kilmorie Wraparound Care on a Friday afternoon, they will be taken by Wraparound staff to whichever disco they are attending. However, you will need to collect them at the end of their disco. Year 3 & 4 children attending the first disco cannot go back to Wrap afterwards.

Enrichment clubs: If your Year 3 or 4 child does not go to Wrap but does attend a Friday after school enrichment club, they will also be escorted to the disco by staff - you do not need to collect them at 4.30pm.

During the disco:

We will have a number of teachers with us during the event as part of our safeguarding measures. We please ask that your child behaves the same way they would at school.

We know it's an exciting evening but we ask you to let your children know that disruptive behaviour, such as throwing food and drinks, being unkind to other students, or being disrespectful to teachers, FoK members and other parents, will result in them being asked to leave, and you picking them up early.

Spending money:

DJ Mandy will be on the decks, and we'll have a number of activities and things for sale at the Disco, including:

  • a tuck shop with soft drinks, juice, crisps and sweets.
    Prices range from 50p - £2
  • bubble tea - £2.50
  • a lucky dip - 50p
  • neon face painting - from 50p
  • water-based tattoos - from 50p
  • Quiet Zone (free)
  • water stations (free)

Please note: We are not serving hot food, so please plan to feed your child before or after the disco.

Please discuss with your child what they can buy and/or take part in beforehand, in particular, if you have not given consent for them to have their face painted and/or a tattoo applied - it is important they understand this.

We will do our best to encourage children to be sensible, if you are concerned about fizzy drink and sweet consumption, please discuss this with your child beforehand. If you have any concerns, please email us at friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com.

The school will provide us with the details of dietary requirements / allergies, however, please get in touch if you have any concerns.

Spending options:

Cash: We will accept cash and will have change. Smaller notes and coins are always appreciated so that we don't run out of change too quickly!

Card: We will have SumUp available as we know some of the older children have their own debit cards.

Add their song choice:

When you buy your child/s ticket/s, you'll be able to submit a song of their choice for DJ Mandy to add to the playlist for the evening.

Picking up your child:

Every child must be collected by an adult at the end of their disco - this includes Year 5 and 6 children who are normally allowed to walk home from school unaccompanied.

Just like at the end of a school day, the teachers will bring the children out and ask them to line up in the playground. They will tick them off the list and release them to their parent/carer once they have identified them.

Please do not enter the school hall or take your child without the teacher being aware, as they must be ticked off the list.

If you have any other questions, you can comment here or email us at friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com

We can't wait to welcome your kids to the Disco!

Still to come in our Summer term...

As the weather gets better (we hope saying this doesn't jinx it!), we've got lots of events planned to bring the school and community together!  Pride Picnic! Friday 4th July 4.30pm -7.00pm To show our support for Pride, we're hosting a relaxed evening in the school playground. We're encouraging you to bring a picnic and a blanket, let kids play, and have a chat with other parents. It's a BYO (bring your own) affair, but we will have a simple bar available with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and crisps.  Summer Carnival of Culture  (aka the summer fair) Saturday 12th July 12pm   We're in planning mode: designing a fun event that celebrates the fantastic cultures that we have in our school and borough. If you have any ideas, feel free to send them to us at friendsofkilmorie@gmail.com
