We need new FoK members

We need you!

Friends of Kilmorie (FOK) is small team of volunteers and over the last two years, the current team has had an amazing time creating fundraising events we’re all really proud of. At the end of this academic year, Emma, our Chair, Helena, our Deputy Chair and Comms Lead and Hayley, our Creative Lead are stepping down and their roles need replacing.

What we do

FoK has been in existence since the 1990s and is a registered charity. Last year we raised over £31,000 allowing us to fund the new OPAL play equipment, iPads, the new sandpit, school trips and much more!

By the end of this academic year we will have hosted six events including the flagship Winter Fair and Summer Party, alongside smaller events such as the parents’ and kids’ disco. All of these contribute to our school’s vibrant culture and community.

With budgets down and costs up, it’s a great opportunity to get involved in the school, understand their challenges and provide essential additional funding to enrich the school experience for all the kids.

Who we need

For FoK to keep going, we need new members; if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time to join the team -  ready for the new academic year!

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of a great team. We need to fill the following roles: (the leadership roles can be individually or as a 'jobshare')

·       Chair

·       Deputy Chair (Or two Co-Chairs)

·       Communications Lead/s

·       General committee members (Creative Lead included)

What being on FOK is like
It’s fun! Being part of the FOK committee is a great way to be at the heart of our school community and for those of us currently on the committee, we’ve had so much fun meeting new people, getting creative and bringing everyone together over the last two years!

Time requirements vary – members devote different amounts of time, at different times – and we work hard to be supportive to one another. Some members have been with the committee for many years, and most have done a two year stint – the length of time is up to you!
